C1B Care Log

A practical guide to setting up care profiles, building day plans, tracking appointments, browsing care photos, automating common tasks, and finding records when you need them.

Onboarding

When you first launch C1B, you will see a short set of onboarding screens before creating your first care profile.

  • Welcome: C1B keeps important care details together for yourself or someone you support.
  • Track Each Day: log medications, vitals, meals, fluids, hygiene, activity, symptoms, notes, and appointments.
  • Care Calendar: review completed days, today's progress, and upcoming care.
  • Coordinate Care: share care profiles with trusted people.
  • Compare Tiers: see what is included in Free, Plus, and Unlimited.
  • Create Your First Care Profile: add the first profile and start tracking care.

Plans and Access

Start with the free tier, then upgrade in the app when you need sharing, exports, Insights, multiple profiles, or advanced planning. To read or update a shared care profile, each participant needs C1B Plus or C1B Unlimited. Purchases are completed through your Apple Account in the App Store, and shared care profiles use iCloud sharing.

View upgrade options

Open Settings, then Membership, then Upgrade to C1B Plus. You can also open Settings, then Plan Details, then Unlock Premium Features. When you choose a feature that requires C1B Plus or C1B Unlimited—such as sharing, multiple profiles, Insights, exports, or advanced day planning—C1B offers the option to upgrade.

From the upgrade screen, choose Monthly, Annual, or Unlimited, complete your purchase through the App Store, or restore a previous purchase. Prices shown here are US prices and may vary depending on your chosen App Store.

Profiles

A care profile is the container for one person's day plans, calendar history, appointments, notes, library items, and settings.

NameThe required display name for the person or care record.
Date of BirthAn optional DOB field, useful for identity and care context.
Care StatusActive, Inactive, Paused, or Archived.
Emergency ContactsA free-text area for critical people and numbers.
NotesGeneral profile-level context that should travel with the care record.

Finding Profiles

Open Profiles to search active care profiles by name, nickname, or care status. Archived profiles remain available from Archived Profiles when you are not searching. Use the New Care Profile button in the bottom toolbar to add another profile.

Today

Today is the working view for a selected day plan. It shows completion progress, appointments for the day, and care entries grouped into sections.

  • Add entries such as meds and treatments, vitals, meals, fluids, hygiene, sleep, activity, visit notes, tasks, notes, calls, meetings, and custom items.
  • Set statuses, scheduled/start/completion times, details, notes, photos, sections, and instructions on each entry. Start and completion actions use the actual action date and time; when a timestamp falls outside the day-plan date, C1B displays its date control automatically. Use the Time Increments control in a time picker to switch between 1- and 5-minute steps.
  • Search or filter the day, collapse completed sections, and use bulk tools to set status, set completion time, move, duplicate, or delete selected entries.
  • A day containing meds or treatments shows a reminder to review them for accuracy. You can dismiss the reminder for that day.
  • Canceling an entry editor after making changes asks whether to discard the changes or keep editing.
  • A day plan created from a colored template uses the template color in the Today background.
  • Completion summaries use green for completed items, orange for Skipped, On Hold, or Not Needed items, and red for Refused or Cancelled items. When color differentiation is enabled, orange exceptions use a triangle and red exceptions use an octagon.
  • Duplicate a day, save a day as a template, replace or append a plan from a template, export the day, review the activity log, and generate a day progress summary. When photos are included, PDF exports contain every care item photo in display order.

Sections

Sections are the groups inside a day plan. Use the Today view's Sections controls to create a New Section, give it a name and optional description, choose where it appears, then add or move entries into it. Sections can be time-based, such as Morning, Afternoon, and Evening, or more general, such as General, Meals, Therapy, Errands, or Notes. Use whatever grouping makes the day easiest to work.

When you can edit the profile, long-press a section header to mark its eligible entries Done, select its visible entries for bulk actions, or edit the section. Section completion leaves entries that are already complete, skipped, handled with an exception, or available as needed unchanged. Use Undo to restore the statuses and completion details changed by the section action.

Care plan items marked Available as Needed remain in their assigned template sections when C1B generates or appends a day plan.

Calendar

Calendar is for planning and reviewing care over time. Switch between list and calendar modes, then choose Upcoming or History.

  • Create a New Day Plan for one or more dates, often from a template.
  • Open any day to review or work its plan, or open Insights for that date.
  • Select days or a date range to replace, append, delete, share, or export records.
  • Free planning supports dates up to 3 days ahead. C1B Plus or Unlimited unlocks planning farther ahead and broader range operations.

Calendar Legend

Colored date circleA day with a generated day plan. The tint comes from the plan, template, or first planned item for that day.

Gray date circleA day with activity but no generated day plan, such as appointments, notes, or manually added records.

Faded date circleA day without tasks or appointments appears lighter.

Progress ringThe ring fills as required items are handled. Green means completed; orange represents Skipped, On Hold, or Not Needed; red represents Refused or Cancelled; and the unfilled part is still open.

Red date circleToday, whether or not a day plan exists.

Orange dotOne or more appointments are scheduled on that date.

Selection circleAppears while selecting days for bulk actions. A checkmark means the date is selected.

Appointments

Appointments keeps visits separate from day plan tasks while still making them visible in Today and searchable from the profile.

  • Appointments are grouped into today's appointments, tomorrow's appointments, upcoming appointments, and past appointments.
  • Each appointment can store title, date/time, all-day status, progress status, icon/color, contact, address, questions, visit notes, and follow-up tasks.
  • Timed appointments can have explicit start and end time zones. Expand a date or time control to choose a time zone. Changing the zone preserves the displayed local clock time, and C1B shows a time zone abbreviation when a zone is set.
  • Add to Calendar preserves appointment time zones and cross-zone details in the Calendar event. Open Calendar goes directly to the appointment date in Calendar.
  • In Today, swipe left on an appointment to change its status to Scheduled, In Progress, or Done. A full swipe marks an appointment Done when that action is available.
  • Use a saved contact to fill contact name, role, and address, or save a manually entered appointment contact back to Contacts.
  • Create appointments manually or with smart add from text, images, or clipboard content when available.

Media

Media collects photos attached to care entries across the selected profile, making them easier to find without opening individual days.

  • Open Media from Navigation on iOS or from the profile sidebar on iPadOS.
  • Browse photos grouped by care day, with the most recent days first.
  • Search by filename, date, care item title, section, type, status, details, instructions, notes, caregiver, or other type-specific information.
  • Open a photo to move through the gallery, use Quick Look, or follow its Care Entry or Date link back to the source record.
  • Select one or more photos to share or delete. Sharing requires C1B Plus or C1B Unlimited. Deletion requires permission to edit the profile and removes each photo from its care entry.

Insights

Insights analyzes care records privately with charts and summaries. It is a C1B Plus or C1B Unlimited feature.

  • Choose a day, week, month, or custom date range.
  • Review charts and summaries based on the selected profile's care data.
  • Navigate from an insight back to a related day plan when available.
  • Export insight reports when you need to share or print them.

Library

Library holds the reusable building blocks for a profile. These items make day plans faster to create and keep repeated details consistent.

Templates

Templates are reusable day plans made of sections and entries. They are one of the fastest ways to turn a recurring routine into a ready-to-use day plan. Use templates from Today or Calendar to generate a day, replace a day plan, append entries to an existing day, or create plans across a date range. You can also save an existing day as a new template.

Many care routines change depending on the kind of day. Instead of forcing every day into one checklist, create a few templates that match real life and apply the right one when planning ahead.

  • Regular day: routine medications, meals, fluids, hygiene, movement, rest, appointments, notes, and any ordinary check-ins.
  • Treatment day: a focused plan for higher-attention days, such as chemotherapy or infusion visits. Sections might cover before leaving, the appointment itself, returning home, hydration or nutrition reminders, symptom observations, and questions to bring back to the care team.
  • Recovery day: a lighter plan for the days after treatment, surgery, illness, or a difficult appointment. It might emphasize rest, comfort measures, fluid and food intake, side-effect notes, temperature or symptom checks when recommended, and follow-up tasks.

Templates work best when they stay practical: use sections for the shape of the day, use Meds & Treatments or Saved Items for repeated entry details, and update the template when the care plan changes. C1B helps organize the plan; medication timing, doses, restrictions, and symptom instructions should come from qualified healthcare professionals.

Meds & Treatments

Meds & Treatments store reusable medication or treatment details such as kind, dosage form, route, dose amount, dose unit, instructions, notes, caregiver notes, icon, and color.

When adding or editing a medication entry in Today or a template, open Preset to search the profile's saved meds and treatments. Choose Enter Med/Treatment… to type a name manually or select an RxTerms suggestion. A suggestion can fill available name, strength, dosage form, route, and icon details. Replacing a medication clears details from the previous selection before applying the new information, so review the resulting entry before saving.

When a care item matches a Meds & Treatments entry that has instructions or caregiver notes, open Additional Details in the care item editor to view the library's current information. These referenced details may have changed since the care item was created.

Contacts

Contacts store people, providers, pharmacies, addresses, phone numbers, email, websites, roles, and notes. Appointments can use a saved contact to fill the contact name, role, and address, and appointment details can link back to the saved contact.

Visit Notes and transportation entries can open a saved-location screen that searches contact addresses and appointment locations together. Contacts can be grouped by name or role, and selecting a result fills the care item's location/address field.

Saved Items

Saved Items are reusable care entries for any care item type. You can save entries from Today or Templates, then choose Saved Items when creating a new day-plan entry or template entry. C1B copies the saved title, type, icon/color, structured details, dosage or location fields, instructions, and notes into the new entry. Deleting a saved item does not change entries that were already created from it.

Settings

Settings is where you adjust the app's behavior, defaults, membership, privacy-facing controls, and support links.

MembershipUpgrade, view Plan Details, manage premium feature access, restore purchases, and open subscription management when applicable.
User InterfaceChoose the default view, navigation button style, preferred iPad sidebar navigation, color scheme, status labels, and default time picker increments. Time pickers also provide an inline control for switching between 1- and 5-minute steps. Under Profile Picker, choose when the Switch Profile menu appears or hide it, and choose whether profile switching animates. Free-tier users can also control upgrade banners.
ExportDefault whether day exports include times, details, notes, and photos. When photos are included, C1B exports every photo attached to each care item in display order.
Activity LogsSet the display name used on activity entries you create, including shared activity entries.
SecurityEnable Lock App and choose when your device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID is required.
PhotosChoose whether original photos taken in the app are saved to your Photo Library.
Device SettingsOpen C1B's system settings for device-level controls such as permissions and the preferred app language.
AboutView the app version and build, rate C1B, and open this documentation.
LegalReview licenses, the privacy policy, and the terms of use.
ResetReset app preferences and dismissed notices when you want to return controls to their defaults.

Languages

C1B is available in English, Spanish (U.S.), French, German, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. The app follows the language selected for C1B in your device's system settings.

Translations other than English were produced using machine translation and may contain errors or awkward wording. Do not rely on a translation alone for medication, medical, or safety-critical decisions. Confirm important information against its original source and instructions from qualified healthcare professionals, and report translation issues to support@c1b.app.

Siri & Shortcuts

C1B provides actions for Siri and the Shortcuts app so you can review, find, create, and update care information in personal automations.

  • Review care: Show Today's Care, Summarize Care, and Get Active Care Profile.
  • Create and update care: Add Care Item, Add Note to Care Item, Add Detail to Care Item, Set Care Item Status, and Mark Care Item Done.
  • Find and navigate: Get Day Plan Sections, Search Care Profile, and actions that open a matching profile, care day, or care item in C1B.
  • Add Care Item works with today's care plan and supports a section, status, scheduled/start/completion times, notes, details, and type-specific values such as medication dose, pain level, mood, amount, or location. If the named section does not exist, C1B creates it.
  • Use Active Profile when a shortcut should resolve the profile selected in C1B at runtime. Get Active Care Profile returns the selected profile, or the only active profile when there is just one.
  • Actions that change care records require device authentication and permission to edit the selected profile.
